THE 21 REV SALUTE

the COMETS MEMORIAL PAGE

In Memory of our fallen Brothers and Sisters now taking the final ride.....May the Stars be your guide on your journey to bikers' heaven.

For us, your memory will be the breeze in our faces
on each and every ride.

What is "the ride"? What is the attraction?

the wind in your face
the steady hum of the engine beneath you
the feeling of free spirit
the total relaxation
total peace
the comradery
the joining together of brothers and sisters to aide those that need
the time to "get away" for awhile
the rider and his bike are one

Dorothy F. “Ma” Moshier, 79, of Mexico, N.Y., died Jan. 6, 2008, at her daughter’s home in Atlantic Beach.

Born in Fulton, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Earnest and Dora Bidwell of Phoenix, N.Y. She was married to the late Martin D. Moshier Jr. for 58 years.

She was known by many and loved by all. She had a knack for making everyone feel special and had the sweetest smile known to man, the family said. Known as the “Pie Lady,” she loved motorcycles and the people who rode them.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Edward [Smitty] Smith of Atlantic Beach; two sons, Martin D. Moshier III of Palermo, N.Y. and Francis [Kathy] Moshier of Mexico, N.Y.; four grandchildren, James A. Signorile Jr. and Tony Signorile, Lauren and Lacey Moshier; four great-grandchildren, James and Taylor Signorile, Anthony and Cassandra Signorile; two brothers, Frederick E. Bidwell and Francis Bidwell of Phoenix, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

She worked for Famous Amos for eight years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 316, Atlantic Beach.

We will miss you very much "Ma". Be at Peace with "Pa". Go with our prayers. Cody & family.

JOE VALLEY

joevalley (91K)

The Oswego County Comets, along with members of Vicious Circle, Red Nights, Abate, Caring neighbors and friends assembled on the site of Joe Valley's needless, untimely death, to pay tribute to him.

Flowers that were placed there only days before marked the spot where Joe drew his last breath. Two crosses were placed into the ground on the side of State Route 49 where Joe came to rest. One Cross from the Oswego County Comets R.C and one from the Vicious Circle M.C.. Many wonderful words came from those 25 plus brothers and sisters who came to start the healing process of such a terrible loss. As we all stood, hand in hand saying aloud the lords prayer, we knew Joe was there holding each of our hands, as he has touched all of our hearts. Before our trip back home, Seven Oswego County Comets lined there bikes on the side of the road to honor him with a 21 rev salute. Thank you to all that could attend, and those who could not your spirit was with us and with Joe.

GOD BLESS YOU , JOE

Four-leaf Clover Poem

I know a place where the sun is like gold,
And the cherry blooms burst with snow, And down
underneath is the loveliest nook,
Where the four-leaf clovers grow.

One leaf is for HOPE, and one is for FAITH,
And one is for LOVE, you know,
And GOD put another in for LUCK --
If you search, you will find where they grow.

But you must have HOPE, and you must have FAITH,
You must LOVE and be strong --
and so -- If you work, if you wait, you will find
the place Where the four-leaf clovers grow.

"BLUE" - Donald Root

BLUE
A

GREAT

friend and brother to many of us, "Blue", has passed on.

A victim of 3 heart attacks, he has gone on to biker heaven and will be extremely
missed by many of us. We can only pray for him and remember all the great times
we had from barbecues to horseshoes to concerts to just plain ol' yard projects.

Services will be at the AMERICAN LEGION in HANNIBAL Saturday the 18th at
1 pm. In spirit I will be there, as Blue hasn't been out of my mind since
I received the shocking news of his passing. I will be thinking of you, Blue.

Cody

If anyone has a better photo, please send it to me. Thanks.

E. Lewis Huffman, Jr.
(Died June 12, 2006)

Lewie Huffman
E. Lewis Huffman, Jr, 79, of 136 Dorothy St., Minoa,
passed away at home.

He was a great friend to some of us Comets as well as a biker, a veteran,
and member of Harmony Acres Horse Club, where we had such great
times playing guitars by the campfire, playing horseshoes, and
yes, tipping a few.

We will keep your memory in our hearts Lewie Huffman,
you were a great friend.

To PA MOSHIER and all the brothers and sisters gone ahead,
Please keep an eye on my Mom, Marie, until I get there.
Thank You, Cody.

Pa Moshier

I am sad to say that I got to know Pa Moshier better in death than in life.
See, I was given the supreme honor of presiding at his memorial service.
I had only known Pa for 3 or 4 years, but known his sons for decades.
After Pa's passing, I met with the family, and really got to know the Man.
I use the phrase "The Man" in the most literal terms.

Pa was certainly unique. Some might say a survivalist, but that falls short of doing
him justice. He was that, but so very much more. A proud Veteran,
who worked at a wide variety of jobs to care for his family. A very devoted
husband, something that in this era is in short supply. A Dad, one who gave
his kids the greatest of gifts, time and love.

In short, Pa was the real deal, a dinosaur, a throw back, old school.
He and "His Chick" had a love affair spanning 58 years while on this earth,
and one that I believe continues on. We all leave this earth at some point.
All of us. The key, in my belief, is to try and leave this place a bit better than we found it.
This world is a better place due to Pa's ride on this earth!

Salute!

Jim Ridgeway

Ma, Lynn, Marty & Fran, I feel the sadness of your loss SO DEEPLY.
Words alone cannot express my heartfelt sorrow enough.

He was a great person and friend to many, many of us and as I write this
I can't help but recall the many weekend horseshoe partys at the pond where
Pa & Ma Moshier ALWAYS made us ALL feel as though we were family.

I can still hear Pa's voice over the speakers at the Harmony Acres horse club
where we spent so many great times. Horses, horseshoes, guitars, singing
around the campfire. I know Pa will be in my memories for as long as I live.
I am sure the same goes for many of you.

Pa was one of the ORIGINAL COMETS and it also saddens me that I cannot be
there for his requested celebration of his life. I ask that all of you give
him the best send off you can, and I know you will.

I WILL be there in spirit and I WILL be doing the 21 Rev Salute that day at 3 pm my time.

God be with you , PaPA

MOSHIERISM

An Ode to Pa

As we are all here today, To say our last good-byes in so many different ways,
This clan of the Moshiers, Lynn, Mart, Fran and especially Ma It seems so funny not to also say “Pa”,
We all must take solace that he will always be in our hearts,
This man among men we know that he is not far, If you look around this room and see who is here, A great big family,
Moshier clones, we are all, You know through the years many a charter has passed through there doors,
Cody’s - Tink’s - Toasts - Blue’s - Dugans, just to name a few Many with real names, to many to mention here,
Names are not important, As long as you are here, To celebrate the life,
Of a man we hold so dear, A crusty man, Like a burnt piece of pie, Once you get past the crust,
He is sweet as a new born babies cry, ‘Good Boy” he would say, In a quick blink of an eye
You know he will always be with us, So please don’t cry, He would rather have us laugh or tell
a good joke and raise your glass high, So here is to you.... Martin Moshier you old sly guy,
We will miss you, but not forget you, You have touched many a life,
Together we will be strong, Apart we are alone, Good-bye Pa Moshier
We will all be with you soon, To Ma, Lynn, Mart and Fran our family must begin anew,
Thank you for the memories of all that we have been through,
Let us lift a glass and toast, To the man You hold so dear and true,
So here to you Pa Moshier We will all miss you...
12-3-2005 with much love.
.Jeffrey C. Beardslee

Please send anything you would like to say about
Pa to me at cody@oswegocountycomets.org and I will put it in here.

Thank You.

Bob Squires

Eulogy

A Very Good Friends' Eulogy A Very Good Friends' Eulogy

Robert "Antique Bob" Squires: Bob was a great man. He had a true passion for
anything with wheels. He loved restoring old Fords and old Harley Davidsons.
Bob was probably the most generous man I knew. He would literally give you the
shirt off his back if you really needed it. Bob moved to Oswego about 12 years ago
after he retired from the New York railroad. He loved it here and he quickly
became a familiar face around town. He met my mom about 6 or so years ago
and they became friends.

Eventually as fate would have it they fell in love and were married for 2 years.
Bob was my mom's knight in shining armor, and they had a lot of fun together.
Together they worked on cars in the garage, drove the old Fords to car shows,
went to flea markets and so much more. Bob will be truely be missed by so many
people. He had more friends than some poeple can imagine and he will
forever be a part of their memories.

Love, Heidi
